As a Technical Escalations Engineer II (Revenue and Cost Management) - APJ, you will join the Technical Escalation Engineering team to serve as an in-house product expert. You will manage complex escalations regarding usage metering, billing anomalies, and cloud cost management while collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Finance teams to resolve bugs and improve transparency. Your daily responsibilities include building internal playbooks, tools, and training materials to help the global Solutions team navigate revenue-impacting behaviors. You will work on solving problems related to telemetry volume, data retention, and high-cardinality signals. The role requires proficiency in cloud billing models for AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as experience with APIs, tagging strategies, and usage metrics. You will translate complex technical data into clear cost impacts while advocating for customers within the observability and security space.

What you'll do

Resolve complex technical escalations regarding usage spikes, billing anomalies, and missing metering data.
Act as the internal expert on usage metering and cloud cost management across all product lines.
Partner with Engineering and Product teams to resolve bugs and improve usage visibility.
Create internal playbooks, tools, and documentation to help teams manage revenue-related inquiries.
Develop customer-facing content and training materials regarding observability costs and billing transparency.
Train the global Solutions team on how to handle cost and usage conversations effectively.
Advocate for the customer by providing feedback to shape the product roadmap for billing features.

What we're looking for

Familiarity with cloud billing models for AWS, Azure, and GCP including usage types and tags.
Experience working across technical and business boundaries to communicate impact to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in analyzing telemetry volume, data retention, high-cardinality signals, and log ingestion.
Knowledge of APIs, product usage metrics, tagging strategies, and multi-org configurations.
Ability to investigate complex data anomalies, edge cases, and root causes to resolve customer issues.
Experience with tools such as Zendesk, Jira, or Confluence is preferred.
Familiarity with Datadog or similar observability platforms is a plus.
A degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
