As a Technical Escalations Engineer 2 (Web Platform), you will join the Technical Escalation Engineering team to serve as an in-house product expert and advocate for customers. You will also develop internal tooling and debugging guides while mentoring the Global Support Engineering team. This role solves critical technical challenges regarding login failures, permission mismatches, and audit discrepancies within the observability and security space.

What you'll do

  • Investigate complex technical escalations and lead high-stakes calls to resolve critical customer challenges.
  • Act as the primary expert for the Web Platform, including authentication, authorization, and visualization features.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to identify platform gaps and advocate for customer-driven improvements.
  • Mentor the Global Support Engineering team through office hours and technical training sessions.
  • Coordinate multi-product investigations while ensuring cross-functional teams remain aligned on outcomes.
  • Develop internal tools, debugging guides, and reusable workflows to streamline resolution of access and UI issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex authentication, authorization, and data visualization issues across the entire product stack.

What we're looking for

  • Deeply familiar with authentication standards and patterns including SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, and SCIM.
  • Experienced in investigating authorization at enterprise scale across roles, permissions, and credential lifecycles.
  • Comfortable managing audit and compliance as a product problem to reconstruct user actions and identify broken records.
  • Familiar with the admin persona regarding user management, organization management, and governance controls.
  • Fluent in data visualization principles and able to troubleshoot graphs from configuration through query resolution to rendering.
  • Ability to investigate complex escalations and lead high-stakes technical calls for critical customer challenges.
  • Capability to develop internal tooling, debugging guides, and reusable workflows for the team.
  • Computer Science or Engineering majors (preferred); experience with Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, or observability platforms (preferred).
