As a Senior Hardware Manager - Digital Systems, you will lead the FPGA and digital-hardware engineering function for complex Tactical Data Links systems. You will oversee the full design lifecycle, including architecture, development, integration, and production execution while managing a high-performing team of engineers. Your daily responsibilities involve setting technical visions, coordinating lab resources, and directing schedule and cost performance across wireless digital communications, modems, networking, digital signal processing, and electronic-warfare applications. Technical requirements include experience with high-speed serial interfaces, Ethernet, and various measurement devices like logic analyzers. Lead the architecture, design, development, and production execution of FPGA and digital-hardware systems.
Establish technical vision, staffing plans, and execution priorities for the digital-hardware engineering team.
Manage technical performance, schedules, and costs while reviewing key decisions, risks, and corrective actions.
Oversee the full design lifecycle from initial proposals and requirements through coding, simulation, and production transition.
Direct analysis, testing, debugging, and evaluation activities to validate designs and resolve technical risks.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technical leaders.
Coordinate personnel, laboratory resources, tools, and cross-functional support across multiple programs and projects.
Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology roadmaps with customer commitments and business goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, a graduate degree with 10 years, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
Active or obtainable Secret security clearance.
Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and providing technical briefings to senior leaders (preferred).
Expertise in digital design, analysis, integration, simulation, synthesis, verification, and production support for complex hardware systems (preferred).
Experience with VHDL/Verilog, modem or DSP circuits, and high-speed serial interfaces like Ethernet, PCIe, and SDRAM (preferred).
Knowledge of laboratory debug techniques using digital scopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs (preferred).
Proficiency in MATLAB, SystemC, C, C++, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and reading schematic drawings (preferred).
