TL;DR · Support Engineer, U.S. Government Support

Support Engineer, U.S. Government Support joins the U.S. Government Support Engineering team to support public sector organizations and United States government agencies. This role operates at the intersection of Support and Engineering, focusing on customers in secure, air-gapped, and FedRAMP-authorized environments. You will perform deep technical investigations using Linux command-line tools to analyze logs, system behavior, and application performance. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting complex issues across infrastructure and code paths, creating technical documentation, and contributing merge requests to resolve customer-impacting defects. The role requires proficiency in Linux systems administration, Git, CI/CD workflows, and container orchestration technologies like OpenShift and Kubernetes. You will also utilize scripting languages such as Ruby or Bash and work with AI/LLM-powered developer tools. This position addresses the challenge of maintaining platform reliability within highly regulated, mission-critical environments with limited telemetry.

What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for government agencies in secure, air-gapped, and highly regulated environments.
  • Perform deep investigations using Linux command-line tools to analyze logs, system performance, and application behavior.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to reproduce defects and submit merge requests to fix customer-impacting issues.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation and support content based on real customer interactions.
  • Develop internal tools, automation scripts, and workflows to improve the efficiency of diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Participate in weekday and weekend on-call rotations to provide emergency support for self-managed customers.
  • Contribute to team growth by reviewing applications and participating in interviews and hiring decisions.

What we're looking for

  • You must be a United States Citizen to be eligible for this position.
  • Experience managing customer-facing cases across the full support lifecycle is required.
  • Strong Linux systems administration knowledge and ability to troubleshoot performance and configuration issues are required.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM-powered developer tooling and gateway architectures is required.
  • Ability to use scripting languages (preferably Ruby or Bash) and work within model-view-controller frameworks (preferably Ruby on Rails).
  • Practical experience with Git and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows is required.
  • Skill in creating and maintaining clear, accurate support content and technical documentation is required.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and container-orchestration technologies such as OpenShift and Kubernetes is required.
