As a Staff SW Engineer within the Technology Organization, you will join a multi-functional development team to invent, develop, and operate software products and services. You will solve complex problems involving distributed systems, new payment flows, cyber security, and B2C platforms while ensuring high availability and fault-tolerant microservices in cloud-native environments.

What you'll do

Gather and refine product requirements with owners to create and execute development roadmaps.
Create design and architecture specifications, project plans, and own the full implementation and deployment lifecycle.
Develop and operate software products for Visa’s enterprise-wide risk platform.
Integrate GenAI and agents into the SDLC and DevOps processes to improve delivery time and quality.
Build and maintain extensible, reusable code and new developer tools while ensuring service reliability.
Respond to incidents during on-call rotations and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Lead design, code, and user experience reviews for multi-functional development teams.

What we're looking for

Must have 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 2+ years with an Advanced degree, 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years of experience.
Must have experience developing web-based applications.
Must have experience in one or more high-level programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or Golang.
Must have experience with SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
Must have experience using GenAI, copilots, and agentic software to improve agility, quality, and security in the SDLC.
Ability to provide technical leadership to other engineers to ensure sound engineering decisions (preferred).
Proven experience architecting, building, deploying, and operating large-scale, highly available, fault-tolerant, and elastic microservices in cloud-native environments (preferred).
Proficiency in REST/GraphQL/gRPC API design, event-driven architectures, and message queues (preferred).
