TL;DR · Staff Hardware Engineer, Connectivity Platforms

Staff Hardware Engineer: Connectivity Platforms serves as a technical leader within the connectivity platforms team, where the role focuses on defining and driving the architecture, integration, and execution of next-generation vehicle connectivity systems. The engineer will own system architecture for connectivity modules, including SoC selection, memory, power architecture, and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, and Ethernet. Day-to-day responsibilities involve guiding schematic design, PCB layout, and multi-domain integration across hardware, firmware, RF, and mechanical disciplines. The role requires expertise in SI/PI, RF coexistence, and advanced system characterization using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers. This position addresses the critical challenge of building robust connectivity platforms to power safety, autonomy, infotainment, and cloud-connected services within vehicle lines. Key technical requirements include experience with LPDDR, PMICs, low-power architectures, and wireless technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and GNSS.

What you'll do

  • Define and own system architecture for connectivity platforms including SoC selection, memory, power, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Drive platform-level design decisions regarding performance, power, cost, reliability, and scalability across multiple vehicle lines.
  • Establish hardware development guidelines, reference architectures, and best practices to ensure consistent quality across programs.
  • Guide schematic design and PCB layout while ensuring optimal SI/PI, RF coexistence, and manufacturability.
  • Oversee board bring-up and system integration including power sequencing, clocking, and boot initialization.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex system issues involving silicon, hardware, RF, and software interactions.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with silicon vendors to influence design and resolve critical issues.
  • Mentor engineers and lead technical reviews to improve team expertise in architecture and debugging.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware development with a focus on system architecture and integration.
  • Deep expertise in SoC-based system design including power architecture, clocks, resets, and boot flows.
  • Strong experience in high-speed digital design for PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and LPDDR with SI/PI considerations.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex system-level issues across hardware, firmware, and RF domains.
  • Experience with power delivery design, PMICs, low-power architectures, and sleep/wake strategies.
  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware development with a focus on system architecture and integration (preferred).
  • Experience with wireless technologies, RF/system coexistence, and automotive-specific validation (preferred).
