The Network Platform Architect joins the Central Engineering Group to define, build, and secure the network strategy for next-generation products. This role focuses on the end-to-end platform integration and adapter architecture for networking products, specifically IPU-based NIC cards. You will own board-level architecture, including PCIe connectivity, clocking, and secure boot, while driving requirements for thermal, power, and reliability envelopes. Key responsibilities include defining manageability interconnects, managing sideband traffic separation, and authoring architecture artifacts like block diagrams and interface requirements. You will utilize expertise in high-speed I/O, Ethernet NIC platforms, and SoC-to-board integration to solve complex challenges in connectivity and telemetry. The role bridges silicon capabilities with deployable, scalable adapter solutions to meet data center operational needs and OEM deployment constraints.
Define the end-to-end adapter card architecture for IPU-based NIC products, including form factor and I/O topology.
Own the board-level architecture for PCIe connectivity, clocking, reset strategies, and secure boot hooks.
Author and maintain platform architecture artifacts such as block diagrams, interface requirements, and OEM integration guides.
Define platform manageability requirements for sideband interfaces, traffic separation, and firmware lifecycle hooks.
Establish card power targets, thermal envelopes, and cooling assumptions in coordination with mechanical and thermal engineering.
Drive platform-level requirements to align SoC capabilities with adapter constraints and data center operational needs.
Lead cross-functional architecture reviews with silicon, board, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure design closure.
Serve as the primary architectural voice to align SoC decisions with adapter constraints and OEM deployment realities.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in NIC/adapter platform architecture, server platform architecture, SoC-to-board integration, or high-speed I/O platform design.
