As a Network Platform Architect, you will join the team responsible for defining, building, and securing the network strategy for networking products. You will own the end-to-end platform integration and adapter architecture for IPU-based NIC products, ensuring silicon capabilities translate into scalable solutions. Your daily responsibilities include defining card architectures, managing power and thermal envelopes, establishing manageability requirements, and leading cross-functional reviews with silicon, board, firmware, and software teams. You will navigate complex trade-offs between SoC features and hardware constraints while drafting technical artifacts like block diagrams and interface requirements. The role requires expertise in high-speed I/O, Ethernet NIC platforms, PCIe connectivity, and telemetry. You will solve critical challenges regarding data center operations, signal integrity, and secure boot protocols to ensure seamless integration across various OEM and ODM environments for cloud technologies and AI.
Define the end-to-end architecture for IPU/DPU/NIC cards, including form factor, I/O topology, and feature partitioning.
Own board-level architecture decisions such as PCIe connectivity, retimer strategies, clocking, and secure boot requirements.
Design platform manageability architectures to ensure consistent telemetry, sensor exposure, and firmware lifecycle support across OEM variants.
Establish thermal and power envelope definitions, including peak power targets, cooling assumptions, and rail budgeting.
Author technical documentation including architecture specifications, block diagrams, and integration guides for manufacturing and partners.
Lead cross-functional reviews with silicon, board design, and software teams to resolve architectural risks early in the cycle.
Align SoC capabilities with hardware constraints and data center operational requirements to ensure scalable product deployment.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 8 years of experience in NIC/adapter platform architecture, server platform architecture, SoC-to-board integration, or high-speed I/O design.
Experience defining adapter architectures that balance electrical, thermal, mechanical, cost, and manufacturability constraints.
Strong understanding of platform manageability concepts and sideband integration across OEM environments.
Experience defining and closing thermal and power envelopes for add-in cards or constrained platforms.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver technical architecture specifications.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Ability to pass an extended background investigation as part of the Position of Trust requirements.
