People Tech Analyst - Payroll & Tech
The People Technology Solutions team seeks a product-minded analyst to build and expand the company's people technology ecosystem. This individual contributor role focuses on transforming payroll strategy into scalable technical solutions while improving data quality, compliance, and employee experience. You will collaborate with Global Payroll, Finance, IT, and Security teams to manage Workday HCM as the system of record and oversee complex integrations with external payroll vendors. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing API integrations, middleware, workflow automation, and custom applications via Workday Extend. You will utilize tools like Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder, and various AI-enhanced capabilities to automate processes. The role requires expertise in Workday configuration, reporting, and data validation to solve technical challenges related to global payroll operations, tax compliance, and secure information exchange across a multi-functional enterprise environment.
Manage the Workday HCM ecosystem as the primary system of record for People and Payroll technology.
Develop the payroll technology roadmap by balancing business priorities, compliance requirements, and technical feasibility.
Lead technical initiatives for payroll vendor integrations, API development, and automated data flows.
Translate complex business needs into user stories, process flows, and detailed implementation plans.
Build and maintain custom applications and automation workflows using Workday Extend and AI tools.
Create reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to improve data accuracy and operational visibility.
Provide production support by troubleshooting integration issues and performing root cause analysis.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including test scripts, process maps, and release notes.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business, or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of hands-on HRIS, payroll technology, enterprise applications, or related experience.
3+ years of experience supporting Workday HCM, including payroll-related business processes, integrations, or configuration.
Experience partnering with payroll vendors and multi-functional technology teams to deliver integration and system improvements.
Solid understanding of payroll processes, employee master data, and HR and Payroll integrations.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into scalable technical solutions.
Experience assisting with enterprise integrations, APIs, middleware, Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday web services, or similar integration technologies.
Practical understanding of payroll regulations, SOX controls, data privacy, and information security considerations.
Experience assisting global payroll processes across various countries and regions (preferred).
Experience working with enterprise payroll providers such as Dayforce, Safeguard Global, Deel or similar platforms (preferred).
Familiarity with Workday Payroll, Payroll Interface, Cloud Connect, Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday APIs, or Workday Orchestrate (preferred).
Experience developing or maintaining applications using Workday Extend (preferred).
Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, dashboards, composite reports, and Prism Analytics (preferred).
Previous experience demonstrating AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency, documentation, issue resolution, testing, workflow automation, or employee self-service (preferred).
1 or more years experience using generative AI tools to draft functional specifications, business requirements, integration documentation, test scripts, release notes, training materials, and crafting user documentation (preferred).
Experience with workflow automation or platforms for building agents such as Sana Agent Builder or Glean (preferred).
Experience supporting global People Operations across several regions including EMEA, APAC, or LATAM (preferred).
