Sr. Mgr., Systems Engineering - Acoustics & Imaging Systems Division Functional Engineering leads cross-discipline engineering teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities and improve technical performance across a portfolio of programs. This leader holds division-level accountability for program execution, where they align people, processes, and tools to drive milestones while ensuring segment-wide interoperability. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing workforce planning, recruiting, performance management, and coaching high-performing teams. The role focuses on implementing integrated operating models, establishing repeatable engineering processes, and driving disciplined verification practices to reduce rework. To achieve these goals, the candidate will utilize Agile delivery, rapid prototyping, simulation approaches, and EVMS/CAM responsibilities for proposal development and cost estimation. This position operates within a mission-critical and safety-critical development environment, specifically addressing technical challenges within the acoustics and imaging systems domain while maintaining strict compliance and safety standards.
Lead cross-discipline engineering teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities and improve technical performance across a portfolio of programs.
Manage functional execution for scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality across projects and proposals.
Implement an integrated operating model with clear role ownership, decision rights, and accountability.
Establish repeatable engineering processes, common tools, and shared metrics to ensure segment-wide interoperability.
Execute workforce planning, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, and succession planning for high-performing teams.
Enforce disciplined engineering rigor and verification practices to reduce rework and improve first-time-right execution.
Enable Agile delivery and rapid prototyping while maintaining strict safety and mission assurance standards.
Collaborate with Program Management and Chief Engineers on proposal activities, cost estimates, and manpower planning.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience, Graduate Degree with 10 years, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
At least 5 years of management and cross-functional leadership experience, including leading experienced professionals or leaders of leaders.
At least 4 years of experience driving execution across multi-discipline engineering teams in a matrixed environment.
At least 4 years of experience with workforce planning, staffing strategy, recruiting, and talent development.
At least 2 years of experience with EVMS/CAM responsibilities and proposal development including BOE generation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (minimum Secret).
Active Secret clearance (preferred); leadership across multiple engineering disciplines; experience in mission-critical environments; familiarity with Agile-at-scale (preferred).
