What you'll do

Provide technical coaching and oversight for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
Provide architectural oversight for Java-based enterprise platforms focusing on performance, reliability, and security.
Lead modernization across legacy, cloud, and hybrid environments while enforcing secure design and compliance guardrails.
Scale operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation to improve delivery speed and quality.
Lead incident response and root-cause analysis to drive corrective actions and improve system stability.
Align product, engineering, operations, and risk stakeholders on priorities and technical outcomes.
Provide input to leadership regarding budget, technical considerations, and operational efficiencies.
Dive into code, performance data, and production issues to resolve complex technical problems.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
Experience hiring, developing, and mentoring talent to deliver against strategic initiatives.
Experience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and defining governance.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security implications.
Hands-on experience with Java-based platforms, Spring Boot, React, and Python operating in production at scale.
Expertise in core Java, J2EE, MQ, Oracle, Postgres, DAPR, Flink, Kafka, and Apache Iceberg.
Proficiency in UNIX, Apache Tomcat, Web Services, SQL, and JavaScript frameworks.
Experience with high-volume transactional systems, cloud-native engineering, and SDLC secure development practices.
Financial industry experience (preferred).
Experience working at the code level (preferred).
