Senior Manager, Software Engineering

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a large engineering team of 30 or more people, including managing other managers.
• Develop and implement coding, testing, and deployment protocols to raise team engineering capabilities.
• Participate in architectural design discussions and conduct code reviews to contribute to technical solutions.
• Partner with Product, QE, and UX teams to prioritize roadmaps and balance business needs with technical constraints.
• Supervise staff performance by organizing work, conducting performance reviews, and providing career development coaching.
• Design innovative solutions to complex technical challenges for high-traffic, internet-facing patient portals.
• Communicate complex technical ideas to senior business leaders in easy-to-understand business terms.
• Drive continuous improvements in organizational performance, efficiency, and non-functional requirements like scalability and security.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or a High School Diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology with increasing responsibility and advancing technical skills.
• 5+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
• Proven experience leading teams of 30 or more and operating as a manager of managers.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented, service-oriented, and micro-service architectures and programming principles.
• Experience in digital experiences, e-commerce, or content-platform environments at enterprise scale (preferred).
• Experience with HL7, FHIR, middleware, and event-driven platforms like Kafka (preferred).
