The Sr Lead Software Engineer - Java / Python joins the Corporate Sector - Infrastructure Platforms team to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. This role involves developing high-quality production code, reviewing others' work, and providing technical guidance to teams, contractors, and vendors. Key responsibilities include driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, establishing validation standards for secure coding, and influencing product design and technical operations. The position requires deep expertise in Java, Python, microservices, distributed systems, and API-first design. Candidates must possess practical experience with AI-driven software engineering, including GenAI applications, prompt engineering, and Model Context Protocol integrations. The work focuses on modernizing large-scale enterprise applications while ensuring operational stability, observability, and responsible AI usage within the software development life cycle.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Drive the adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key architectural decisions.
Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific technical areas of focus.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.
Coach senior engineers on compliant usage patterns and security controls for responsible AI adoption.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Deep expertise in designing, developing, and modernizing large-scale enterprise applications with a focus on scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
Strong hands-on development experience across multiple programming languages, including Java and Python.
Proven expertise in modern software architecture, including microservices, distributed systems, API-first design, and cloud-native development.
Practical experience with AI-driven software engineering, including GenAI applications, prompt engineering, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) based integrations.
Ability to establish engineering best practices including secure SDLC, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, React, Node.js, and RAG architectures (preferred).
