Lead Software Engineer, Java, Python

What you'll do

• Develop and validate APIs for credit decisioning while adhering to established coding standards.
• Create technical design documents and process flows for software solutions.
• Develop and maintain rules for decision services using engines like Drools or FICO OMDM.
• Analyze large datasets to improve risk-adjusted returns and develop business strategies for lending decisions.
• Design and monitor test designs and analytical reporting suites for regular product reviews.
• Apply predictive models and third-party data to execute segmentation and targeting for portfolio strategies.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues by reviewing coding, testing, and software documentation.
• Manage engagements with internal and external information suppliers to ensure solutions meet governance standards.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience.
• 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java and Python.
• Experience working with relational databases and a good understanding of SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and experience developing and maintaining APIs.
• Familiarity with rules engines like FICO OMDM, Drools, or Experian Power Curve.
• Experience in event-driven environments with familiarity with Kafka messaging.
• Understanding of systems integration using API, FTP, and messaging bus, plus the ability to create process flows.
