TL;DR · Senior Engineer, Electronics Packaging, Configuration Management

Sr. Engineer, Electronics Packaging, , Configuration Management joins the Engineering Practice & Configuration Management team to manage the electrical engineering configuration management lifecycle for a low Earth orbit satellite network. This role involves owning the end-to-end process from component initiation and ECAD library management through PCB design, documentation, and release to supply chain and contract manufacturers. The candidate will standardize PCBA lifecycle standards, BOM structures, and revision control protocols while ensuring data integrity between EDM and Teamcenter systems. Key responsibilities include authoring configuration management standards, managing a large inventory of electrical components, and developing training programs for project teams. Required skills include experience with PLM systems like Teamcenter, ECAD tools such as Mentor or Siemens Xpedition, and expertise in PCBA design-to-manufacturing workflows within high-reliability electronics environments to ensure spacecraft design data remains accurate and traceable.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end electrical configuration management lifecycle from component initiation to contract manufacturer handoff.
  • Standardize PCBA lifecycle standards, BOM structures, and revision control protocols across all design projects.
  • Ensure data integrity by synchronizing component libraries between EDM and Teamcenter systems.
  • Author and maintain official configuration management standards as the primary expert for the electrical domain.
  • Oversee the traceability and release standards for custom modules such as ASICs and made-to-spec components.
  • Establish single-source-of-truth practices and automated verification processes for all Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Develop and deliver training programs and onboarding materials for electrical configuration management.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in configuration management, product data management, or engineering process ownership in an EE/ECAD environment.
  • Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred) and ECAD tools (Mentor/Siemens Xpedition preferred).
  • Demonstrated understanding of PCBA design-to-manufacturing workflows, including BOM management, revision control, and release processes.
  • Experience authoring and governing engineering process documentation and standards.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to drive standardization across multiple project teams.
  • Experience with EDM, contract manufacturer handoff, aerospace environments, or CMPIC certification (preferred).
