The SR Director of Software Engineering – Trust and Safety Engineering leads multiple technical areas within the Commercial and Investment Bank Payments Technology Fraud Engineering team. Lead multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives.
Set and scale multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation.
Drive the development and delivery of high throughput, low latency production systems for fraud prevention.
Oversee cross-functional engineering teams including application, data, and SRE disciplines.
Guide the adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code across teams.
Ensure operational stability, observability, and reliability of distributed, cloud-native architectures.
Act as the primary interface with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive consensus across competing objectives.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
Strong background in Java-based backend systems, including Spring Boot and microservices.
Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists across application, data, and SRE disciplines.
Deep understanding of distributed systems design, cloud-native architectures, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Proven track record delivering high throughput/low latency production systems and experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models and deep understanding of responsible AI risk and controls.
Experience with event-driven architectures, data engineering, SRE principles, containerization, and API design (preferred).
