What you'll do

  • Lead multiple identity, authentication, and customer-access technology programs to achieve firmwide objectives like CIAM modernization and passwordless adoption.
  • Manage technical areas including identity architecture, authentication engineering, developer platforms, and site reliability for CIAM services.
  • Provide high-level direction to software engineering and platform teams across public cloud (AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Act as the primary interface with senior executives to align security, customer experience, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the adoption of industry standards such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and FIDO2/WebAuthn across the organization.
  • Champion an AI-augmented engineering culture by implementing tools for code velocity, automated testing, and incident remediation.
  • Set the vision and roadmap for agentic capabilities to automate certificate rotations, policy validation, and developer assistance.
  • Oversee large-scale projects involving zero-downtime migrations, blue/green deployments, and rigorous SLIs/SLOs for authentication services.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
  • Experience leading large or cross-functional teams including platform, application, and SRE functions for high-availability identity services.
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with strong systems thinking and distributed systems knowledge.
  • Extensive practical cloud-native experience on AWS using secure-by-default patterns and cost-aware scaling.
  • Deep hands-on understanding of IAM standards including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, FIDO2, and WebAuthn.
  • Proven ability to deploy AI tools for developer productivity and architect agentic systems for CIAM use cases.
  • Security, risk, and compliance fluency for identity, including familiarity with NIST SP 800-63 guidelines.
  • Experience with CIAM products like Ping Identity or ForgeRock (preferred).
  • Background with customer fraud/risk signals and adaptive authentication orchestration (preferred).
  • Familiarity with API security best practices and zero-trust-aligned access strategies (preferred).
  • Experience in observability for identity services and incident response for security events (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks like React and Next.js (preferred).
