As the Sr Director of Software Engineering Equity Derivatives Technology, you will lead multiple technical areas and manage several departments within the Equity Derivatives Technology team. You are responsible for driving firmwide technology objectives by overseeing complex projects, managing cross-product collaborations, and influencing senior stakeholders to achieve consensus across competing goals. Your daily work involves scaling multi-department strategies for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation while establishing guardrails for security, reliability, and traceability. You will manage the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and oversee large, cross-functional teams of technologists. The role requires extensive practical cloud native experience, expertise in system design, and a deep understanding of responsible AI risk. Preferred technical skills include proficiency in Java, Python, or C++, as well as knowledge of object-based databases and Equity Derivative products.
Lead multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide objectives.
Manage multi-department strategies for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation.
Establish guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse in automated workflows.
Drive cross-domain tool reuse and capacity improvements within the software development life cycle.
Provide high-level direction to large teams across multiple platforms and lines of business.
Act as the primary interface with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive consensus on competing objectives.
Manage complex projects and large-scale collaborations across various product and technology teams.
Advise senior leadership on responsible AI risk, controls, and secure adoption strategies.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate, and solve complex technical items.
Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists.
Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models including governance and measurement frameworks.
Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency/security expectations at scale.
Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability.
Extensive practical cloud native experience; technical skill in object-based databases and Java, Python, or C++ (preferred); knowledge of Equity Derivative products (preferred).
