The Senior Director of Software Engineering joins the Consumer & Community Banking Operations Technology team to lead multiple technical domains and high-performing teams. Lead multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives.
Manage multiple areas with a strategic focus on transactional systems and high-performing teams.
Set and scale multi-department strategies for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation.
Establish guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse across AI-orchestrated delivery workflows.
Apply software development life cycle tools to drive cross-domain reuse and measurable capacity outcomes.
Act as the primary interface with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive consensus across competing objectives.
Manage complex projects and large cross-product collaborations across multiple platforms and lines of business.
Advise senior leaders on responsible AI risk, controls, and secure adoption of portfolio governance.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
Proven success delivering complex, multi-team programs at scale and on schedule.
Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists.
Deep expertise in API design, AWS cloud, CI/CD, container orchestration, event streaming, front-end frameworks, observability, and large-scale databases.
Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models and understanding responsible AI risk and controls.
Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
Mastery of modern delivery methodologies like Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
Hands-on coding experience and extensive practical cloud native experience.
Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale (preferred).
