Specialist, Systems Engineer - Software Defined Radio

What you'll do

• Integrate, configure, and validate software defined radio (SDR) architectures for GPS simulators.
• Develop and execute RF test methodologies including waveform verification and over-the-air characterization.
• Implement and maintain FPGA and DSP based signal processing chains for PNT waveforms.
• Troubleshoot SDR hardware and software interactions involving RF front-ends and embedded firmware.
• Create automated test scripts and diagnostic tools to evaluate signal fidelity and interference resilience.
• Perform field testing of GPS receivers in contested environments involving jamming and spoofing.
• Analyze data to ensure compliance with military standards and program requirements.
• Manage configuration for SDR firmware loads, FPGA bitstreams, and calibration files.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 4 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience combinations as specified.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with software defined radios (SDRs), including configuration, waveform development, and DSP workflows.
• Active US Secret security clearance.
• Proficiency in SDR frameworks or toolchains such as GNU Radio, MATLAB/Simulink, or Ettus/USRP platforms (preferred).
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals including modulation schemes, filtering, signal generation, and interference analysis (preferred).
• Experience with Python for automation, scripting, signal validation, and test control (preferred).
• Familiarity with FPGA or embedded-processor-based signal processing and interpreting firmware loads (preferred).
