As a Software Development Presales Solution Engineer, you will join a team focused on helping SLED enterprise customers navigate the AI landscape by adopting GitHub Copilot, GitHub Enterprise, and the Microsoft developer platform. You will perform technical sales activities including leading hackathons, conducting in-person and virtual demos, and facilitating training sessions for large groups. Your daily work involves translating technical capabilities into business outcomes like faster delivery and improved security while managing discovery, workshops, pilots, and adoption planning. You will utilize tools such as Copilot Studio, Foundry, Azure, Microsoft 365, and GitHub Actions to solve problems related to developer productivity, CI/CD, and secure software delivery. The role specifically addresses the challenge of modernizing engineering practices and scaling AI-powered development across diverse teams while navigating complex licensing, billing, and token optimization requirements for government agencies.
Lead technical engagements including discovery, demos, workshops, pilots, and adoption planning for GitHub products.
Conduct in-person training sessions and hackathons for large groups of over 50 attendees.
Translate complex technical capabilities into tangible business outcomes like faster delivery and improved security.
Drive GitHub Copilot sales and adoption by identifying high-value use cases for SLED and academic customers.
Guide customers on DevOps, CI/CD, secure software delivery, and integration with Azure and Microsoft 365.
Lead technical competitive discussions to position GitHub Copilot against alternative AI developer tools.
Manage licensing, billing, and token optimization for enterprise customers.
What we're looking for
Must have a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or 5 years of equivalent technical pre-sales/consulting experience.
Must be a United States citizen to meet legal requirements for supporting government agency customers.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check every two years.
Must reside in the Eastern United States within 60 miles of an international airport.
Preferred: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, DevOps, cloud platforms, or technical sales.
Experience engaging enterprise customers and influencing technical decision-makers across engineering, security, and business stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, or comparable developer platform technologies.
