The Server Product Architect (RISC-V) – Sr. Director joins the CPU Engineering team to define the architecture of a high-performance RISC-V server SoC. This role involves translating customer and platform requirements into measurable KPIs while guiding cross-functional decisions across CPU, memory, IO, power, RAS, security, debug, and test domains. You will develop server roadmaps, model performance, power, area, and cost trade-offs, and create detailed specification documents for engineering teams. Key technical requirements include deep expertise in RISC-V profiles, RV64 application processor requirements, chiplet architecture, coherency management, and virtualization extensions. You must also possess strong knowledge of AIA, IOMMU, and confidential compute (CoVE) architectures. The work focuses on solving complex hardware challenges for hyperscale data center solutions and next-generation server-class computing.
Define the architecture for a RISC-V server SoC to meet customer KPIs.
Translate customer and platform requirements into measurable performance, power, and area targets.
Guide cross-functional architecture decisions across CPU, memory, IO, power, RAS, and security domains.
Model and evaluate key server KPIs including performance, power, area, cost, and reliability trade-offs.
Develop the server roadmap and feature set across multiple architecture domains.
Create detailed architecture specification documents to communicate product decisions and implementation guidance.
Define the architecture for chiplet, coherency management, and memory systems.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 9+ years of relevant engineering experience.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
15+ years of experience in CPU and/or SoC architecture, including at least 5 years of experience with RISC-V-based products (preferred).
15 years of experience in semiconductor product development (preferred).
5+ years of experience building high performance server products (preferred).
Strong expertise in RISC-V profiles, RV64 application processor requirements, and RISC-V security including confidential compute (CoVE) architecture (preferred).
Strong expertise in SoC architecture domains including coherency management, memory systems, IO, power management, RAS, debug, and test architecture (preferred).
