Senior Director Software Engineering

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end delivery including technical roadmaps, architecture decisions, and operational excellence for your engineering organization.
• Build, mentor, and scale a team of engineering managers and senior individual contributors.
• Translate business priorities from Product and Design leadership into actionable technical strategies and roadmaps.
• Drive engineering rigor regarding code quality, system reliability, security, and scalability across the platform.
• Represent the organization in cross-company planning to influence broader technical direction at Slack and Salesforce.
• Manage organizational design, headcount planning, and budget for your specific team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and continuous improvement within the engineering group.

What we're looking for

• You must have 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• You must have 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles managing managers.
• You must have a proven track record leading large-scale, distributed systems at consumer or enterprise SaaS scale.
• You must possess strong technical judgment regarding architecture and design.
• You must have experience partnering with Product and Design at the executive level to shape roadmap and strategy.
• You must have demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing, diverse engineering teams.
• You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to operate with ambiguity while driving clarity for others.
