TL;DR · Senior Scientist, Conjugation Process Development

As a Senior Scientist, Conjugation Process Development, you will join the Conjugation Process Development team to lead antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) process development projects ranging from early-phase clinical molecules through late-stage or commercial products. You will be responsible for independently designing, executing, and interpreting studies, monitoring results, and identifying solutions for process improvements. Your daily work involves developing novel processes, mentoring team members, and facilitating technology transfers while authoring technical reports and regulatory submissions. The role requires expertise in antibodies, proteins, and bioconjugation, alongside a solid understanding of organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, and analytical protein characterization techniques such as HPLC, IEF, and CE-SDS. You will also utilize statistical software like JMP for data visualization and experimental design to solve complex problems within the oncology product area involving highly potent cytotoxic molecules.

What you'll do

  • Lead antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) process development projects from early-phase clinical molecules through commercial products.
  • Independently design, execute, and interpret studies to answer specific technical questions within defined timeframes.
  • Develop subsequent experiments based on data interpretation while identifying problems and creating solutions.
  • Facilitate technology and assay transfers between internal and external partners.
  • Author and review technical reports, manufacturing documents, regulatory submissions, and scientific publications.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and propose innovative solutions for technology development.
  • Forecast and plan resource requirements for the project team.
  • Provide mentoring to guide and develop team members.

What we're looking for

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree with 9 to experience, a Master's degree with 7 to experience, or a PhD with 0 to experience.
  • Degree must be in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have direct experience with antibodies, proteins, and/or bioconjugation.
  • Must possess a good understanding of analytical protein characterization including HPLC, IEF, and CE-SDS.
  • Must have a foundational understanding of organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, and process development.
  • Must be willing to work with highly potent cytotoxic molecules.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to perform complex data analysis.
  • Work authorization in the United States.
