The Senior Production Support Engineer - Assistant Vice President joins the team supporting the Equities and Security Lending businesses. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of trading platforms by applying Site Reliability Engineering principles. You will proactively manage system health, lead production support activities, and drive automation and observability initiatives to reduce operational toil. Daily responsibilities include investigating root causes, managing incidents, and acting as a production gatekeeper for deployments and disaster recovery. Required technical skills include Linux/Unix, SQL, scripting, Python, and Java. You must also possess knowledge of APIs, messaging technologies, distributed systems, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices. The role specifically addresses the technical challenges of maintaining high-availability trading systems and optimizing front-to-back workflows within a fast-paced financial environment.
Maintain trading platform stability and resilience through proactive monitoring and observability.
Lead hands-on production support activities using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices.
Perform root cause analysis and conduct postmortems to resolve and prevent infrastructure issues.
Drive automation initiatives to create self-healing capabilities and reduce operational toil.
Act as a production gatekeeper for deployments, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
Manage major incidents and provide clear technical communications to stakeholders during outages.
Optimize workflows and solve business problems by leveraging AI tools responsibly.
What we're looking for
Extensive experience in Production Support, SRE, or DevOps within financial services or trading environments.
Strong technical expertise in Linux/Unix, SQL, scripting, and programming languages such as Python or Java.
Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident management tools focused on platform reliability and performance.
Knowledge of APIs, messaging technologies, distributed systems, cloud platforms, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices.
Understanding of trading systems and trade lifecycle concepts combined with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows while ensuring ethical use of data (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to lead major incident response efforts and prioritize effectively under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment (preferred).
Strong focus on identifying automation opportunities to reduce operational toil and improve platform resilience (preferred).
