Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer - DeltaV/PLC As a member of the Manufacturing & Clinical Supplies Facilities & Engineering Automation team, you will lead technical projects supporting Clinical & Commercial Plant Automation programs and capital construction initiatives. You will serve as an automation technical lead to design, build, commission, and qualify new equipment while managing the lifecycle of process automation systems. Your daily work involves developing solutions using DeltaV Distributed Control Systems, Rockwell Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, and SCADA systems on Virtual Server infrastructure. You will also perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot process control issues, and ensure data integrity. The role requires expertise in technologies such as OPC, Profibus, DeviceNet, and Electronic Batch Reporting Systems. This position addresses the technical challenges of integrating drug substance and drug product manufacturing technologies into clinical and commercial facilities while ensuring compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, and S95 standards.

What you'll do

Lead technical projects as an automation lead for complex capital construction and lifecycle asset management programs.
Develop and maintain process control solutions using DeltaV DCS, Rockwell PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
Perform root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting for process control issues in plant operations.
Design, build, commission, and qualify new equipment and systems to integrate manufacturing technologies into facilities.
Execute Commissioning & Qualification efforts including automation installation verification and functional testing.
Develop technical specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, and operating standards for multiple organizational units.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
Mentor and develop the capabilities of the site technical automation team.

What we're looking for

A Doctorate or Master’s degree with 2 years of Manufacturing Automation Systems Engineering experience.
A Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of Manufacturing Automation Systems Engineering experience.
An Associate’s degree with 8 years of Manufacturing Automation Systems Engineering experience.
A high school diploma or GED with 10 years of Manufacturing Automation Systems Engineering experience.
Preferred degrees in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or Biotech Engineering.
Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS, Rockwell Automation SCADA and PLCs, PI, and Virtual Server infrastructure.
Knowledge of process control engineering for biopharmaceutical equipment such as bioreactors and chromatography systems.
Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, S95, and GAMP regulatory requirements.
