What you'll do

  • Lead technical projects to support upstream, downstream, and solution preparation automation needs.
  • Develop process control automation solutions using the Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System.
  • Partner with capital project teams to design, build, commission, and qualify new production equipment.
  • Provide 24/7 onsite and on-call operational support and troubleshooting for plant automation systems.
  • Lead technical root cause analysis and incident investigations for process control issues.
  • Perform automation engineering assessments for new product and technology introductions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed specifications, SOPs, and cGMP operating standards.
  • Mentor and develop the site's technical automation capabilities and engineering staff.

What we're looking for

  • High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of engineering experience, Associate’s and 8 years, Bachelor’s and 4 years, Master’s and 2 years, or a Doctorate.
  • Degree in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or Biotech Engineering (preferred).
  • Extensive experience with Emerson DeltaV and Process Control Network design (preferred).
  • Experience with Process Control Systems, including Virtual Infrastructure, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, and Profibus (preferred).
  • Knowledge of integrating OEM automation software and field instrumentation technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with upstream/downstream/solution prep unit operations such as bioreactors and chromatography (preferred).
  • Knowledge of industry standards including 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, S95, GAMP, GDP, and GMP (preferred).
  • Doctorate Degree.
