JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, Systems Engineering
The Senior Manager, Systems Engineering leads a team of 10 to 12 direct reports supporting the Next Generation Jammer program. This role is responsible for technical planning, requirements decomposition, architecture development, interface management, and system verification from capture through production. The manager must drive the adoption of model-based systems engineering and digital engineering methods, specifically utilizing SysML-based modeling to improve requirements traceability and verification readiness. Key responsibilities include leading technical trade studies, risk management, and integration strategies for mission radio frequency links, secure communications, and satellite payloads. The role requires proficiency with tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Capella, DOORS, and Jama. The work involves solving complex problems in terminal architectures, software-defined radio frequency payloads, and command and control solutions within highly regulated defense environments.
Lead, mentor, and develop a systems engineering team of 10 to 12 direct reports.
Own system requirements decomposition, architecture definition, interface control, and technical baseline management.
Drive the adoption of model-based systems engineering and digital engineering methods like SysML modeling.
Manage team staffing, priorities, budgets, and development plans to meet program milestones.
Lead technical trade studies, risk management, and issue resolution for mission radio frequency links and terminal architectures.
Guide integration and test strategies, verification closure, and problem resolution across development laboratories and fielded environments.
Ensure all systems engineering artifacts comply with contract requirements and military, aerospace, and communications security standards.
Support customer engagements, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and proposal activities.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with 12 years of experience, a Graduate Degree with 10 years, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Experience leading systems engineering for radio frequency communications, satellite communications, space payloads, or complex aerospace and defense systems (preferred).
Working knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture development, and integration and test (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to incorporate model-based systems engineering into product development or program execution (preferred).
Advanced degree in a related technical field or prior formal engineering management experience (preferred).
Experience in highly regulated defense or aerospace environments with export-controlled or classified programs (preferred).
