Senior Manager, Data Science

What you'll do

• Set the data science strategy for personalization, recommendations, search, and digital product discovery.
• Partner with business leaders to identify high-value customer problems before selecting technical solutions.
• Establish clear hypotheses, success measures, and decision criteria before beginning significant experimentation.
• Build an experimentation and measurement discipline that connects model performance to revenue and customer behavior.
• Identify and automate repetitive data science work into reusable capabilities and scalable platforms.
• Use GenAI and agentic architectures to increase the speed of research, experimentation, and learning.
• Coach and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and ML operations engineers.
• Communicate complex scientific ideas clearly to influence senior Product, Engineering, and business leaders.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science or Machine Learning roles.
• 3+ years of experience managing Data Science, Applied Science, or Machine Learning teams on customer-facing products.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Deep experience in personalization, recommendation systems, search/ranking, customer modeling, marketplace optimization, or digital commerce.
• Strong knowledge of experimentation, statistical measurement, and causal inference.
• Hands-on proficiency with Python, SQL, and large-scale data platforms like BigQuery.
• Experience applying modern machine learning and GenAI techniques to real customer or business problems.
• Familiarity with open-source AI resources and cloud ML platforms like Google Vertex AI or AWS (preferred).
