What you'll do

Administer, configure, and support enterprise batch scheduling platforms including CA-7, Control-M, and ZEKE.
Design and implement batch workload standards, governance, and operational controls for job management.
Build and maintain automation solutions using REXX and Python to streamline operations and reporting.
Diagnose and resolve batch failures, performance bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts through root-cause analysis.
Integrate scheduling and automation with enterprise monitoring, ticketing, and change management tools.
Drive mainframe modernization initiatives including API enablement and automation-first operating practices.
Implement AI-assisted approaches for log analysis, anomaly detection, and runbook generation while ensuring compliance.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, architectural diagrams, and knowledge base articles.

What we're looking for

5+ years of experience in mainframe systems programming and/or mainframe operations engineering in an enterprise environment.
Hands-on expertise with CA-7, Control-M, and/or ZEKE.
Strong coding and scripting skills in REXX and/or Python with demonstrated automation deliverables.
Strong troubleshooting skills across the batch execution lifecycle including JCL errors, dataset issues, and scheduling conflicts.
Working knowledge of core mainframe concepts such as JCL, JES, catalogs/datasets, SMP/E, and operational controls.
Experience with change management, incident/problem management, and on-call support in regulated environments.
Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations while ensuring outcomes align with resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies across public and private clouds.
