As the Senior Facilities Service Manager - Mechanical, you will lead the onsite mechanical service and maintenance team responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mission-critical cooling and HVAC systems supporting hyperscale data center operations. Reporting to the Site Operations Director, you will manage Facilities Technicians while overseeing the development of an in-house self-perform maintenance program. You will also manage vendors, track system health metrics, and ensure regulatory compliance regarding refrigerant handling and safety. The role requires expertise in HVAC systems, BMS controls integration, and CMMS platforms to solve critical uptime challenges. Essential skills include crisis management, technical leadership, and a deep understanding of mechanical distribution systems within high-availability industrial environments.

What you'll do

Lead a team of technicians in maintaining and repairing mission-critical cooling and HVAC systems.
Manage day-to-day operations including work prioritization, coaching, and performance management for the mechanical team.
Build and lead an in-house self-perform maintenance program to improve service execution and training standards.
Oversee large-scale infrastructure such as chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and associated control interfaces.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships while enforcing SLAs and safety requirements.
Track system health and performance metrics to reduce repeat failures and improve uptime.
Own mechanical safety programs, regulatory compliance, and technician training for refrigerant handling and safe work practices.
Support incident response, service restoration, and long-term maintenance planning for 24/7 operations.

What we're looking for

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
Candidates should have 5–8+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical service, or critical facilities maintenance.
Candidates should have 3–5+ years of experience leading technicians or field maintenance operations.
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC technology, or facilities management is preferred.
Experience with mission-critical cooling infrastructure including chillers, CRAH/CRAC systems, and cooling towers is preferred.
EPA Section 608 Certification, an HVAC trade license, or OSHA 30 certification are preferred.
Proficiency in BMS/controls integration, preventive maintenance, and CMMS systems is desired.
