What you'll do

Design and optimize distributed system components for horizontal and vertical scaling using distributed state management tools.
Build fault-tolerant infrastructure by implementing redundancy, replication, automatic failover, and circuit breakers.
Develop telemetry systems, dashboards, and automated alerts to proactively monitor and detect component health issues.
Create automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for troubleshooting, maintenance, and cloud infrastructure management.
Conduct performance testing and fault-injection scenarios to ensure system correctness and high availability.
Participate in incident response rotations, perform root cause analyses, and author operational runbooks.
Implement advanced security controls including encryption and access management for multi-tenant environments.
Ensure all systems comply with industry standards and maintain accurate technical documentation.

What we're looking for

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
3–5+ years of software engineering experience building reliable services, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
Strong programming skills in at least one systems or backend language such as Java, Go, Rust, C/C++, or Python.
Experience with Rust is a strong plus for compute and systems-oriented roles (preferred).
Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, concurrency, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
Experience or interest in cloud infrastructure, virtualization, Linux systems, containers, storage, networking, security, schedulers, control planes, or management planes.
Ability to design, build, test, and debug reliable software in a large, evolving codebase.
Proficiency in distributed systems, kernel programming, Linux, and system programming.
