Senior Director, Special Projects - Data Center Operations

What you'll do

• Establish the strategy, operating model, and governance framework for the special projects construction portfolio.
• Lead teams executing remediation, retrofits, infrastructure upgrades, and capacity improvements across data center sites.
• Manage portfolio prioritization, staffing strategies, budget alignment, risk governance, and executive reporting.
• Ensure all projects adhere to strict safety controls, change management protocols, and operational readiness requirements.
• Resolve complex issues related to construction, design, commissioning, procurement, and project scheduling.
• Develop playbooks, standards, and repeatable processes to improve portfolio delivery quality.
• Identify systemic risks across the portfolio and sponsor corrective actions to improve reliability and capital efficiency.
• Mentor and develop leaders and senior individual contributors within the organization.

What we're looking for

• 15+ years of experience in construction, data center delivery, mission-critical infrastructure, engineering, or facilities operations.
• 7+ years of people leadership experience leading managers and technical teams.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, facilities management, operations, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience managing large, complex construction or remediation portfolios in active data center or high-availability environments.
• Strong understanding of MEP infrastructure, commissioning, construction closeout, safety, and site operations constraints.
• Ability to build governance models, dashboards, and executive reporting for complex project portfolios.
• Experience with hyperscale data centers, colocation facilities, or critical manufacturing (preferred).
• PMP, PgMP, CCM, PE, LEED, OSHA, Six Sigma, or related certifications (preferred).
