TL;DR · Senior Director, Crisis Management

As the Senior Director, Crisis Management, you will own operational readiness and response execution for network-wide disruptions across a global payment network. You will serve as the strategic lead for major disruptions, coordinating with enterprise command centers, regional hubs, and executive leadership to restore services rapidly. Your daily work involves designing response playbooks for specific failure modes like transaction processing outages, clearing and settlement delays, and liquidity disruptions. You will act as a bridge between internal operations and external stakeholders, including issuers, acquirers, and processors. To succeed, you must leverage expertise in risk management, operations management, project management, and people management. You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed resilience into the development lifecycle while leading complex simulations and post-incident reviews to ensure long-term stability for the payment ecosystem.

  • Establish communication protocols and playbooks for coordinating with external partners like issuers, acquirers, and merchants during systemic events.
  • Coordinate consistent customer-facing messaging across all internal departments during high-severity technical incidents.
  • Facilitate complex simulations and exercises to test and validate incident response playbooks with technology and command center staff.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify and prioritize actionable remediation items on the product and technology roadmaps.
