The Senior Director, Cloud Architecture reports to the Senior Director, Global Cloud Platforms, leading the enterprise Cloud FinOps strategy, operating model, and maturity roadmap. This leader integrates financial operations into cloud architecture to ensure business value, cost efficiency, and scalability across a matrixed global organization. Key responsibilities include owning cloud budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback processes while providing executive-level reporting on ROI and optimization. The role involves partnering with platform engineering, finance, and digital product teams to embed cost-aware design principles into cloud-native architectures. Required expertise includes cloud architecture principles, hybrid and multi-cloud environments like SAP Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, and optimizing economics for AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing. The position also requires driving automation using policy-as-code and managing hyperscaler commercial optimization strategies.
Own the enterprise Cloud FinOps strategy, operating model, governance, and maturity roadmap across all cloud platforms.
Lead enterprise cloud budgeting, forecasting, show back, chargeback, and cloud investment planning processes.
Provide executive-level reporting on cloud spend, ROI, business value realization, and optimization opportunities.
Embed cost-aware design principles into cloud-native architectures and development practices with engineering teams.
Drive adoption of standardized, reusable architecture patterns to reduce duplication and improve cost efficiency.
Develop optimization strategies for AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing workloads to balance innovation with cost.
Lead cloud commercial optimization strategies with hyperscalers, including commitment management and contract optimization.
Automate cloud governance and optimization recommendations using policy-as-code and intelligent insights.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
Master’s degree (preferred).
10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud platforms, or enterprise technology roles with exposure to financial management of technology investments.
FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP), FinOps Certified Professional (FOCP), or equivalent cloud financial management certifications (preferred).
Proven experience integrating cost management or FinOps practices into cloud or technology environments.
Strong expertise in cloud architecture principles, including scalability, performance, resilience, and cost optimization.
