Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture serves as a senior technology executive leading the architectural vision and modernization strategy for the Pharmacy Benefit Management organization. This leader will spearhead the transformation of legacy, monolithic platforms into modern, scalable, domain-driven architectures while managing initiatives in platform rationalization, cloud adoption, data enablement, and engineering transformation. The role involves building out multi-year roadmaps to simplify the landscape, reduce technical debt, and integrate Generative AI, Agentic AI, and intelligent automation into core business processes like claims processing and benefit administration. Key responsibilities include establishing architecture governance, defining technology standards, and leading a team of enterprise architects. The candidate must possess expertise in API-first and event-driven architectures to solve complex problems within the pharmacy and healthcare technology space while improving operational efficiency and delivery velocity across various clinical programs and digital experience platforms.
Define and execute a multi-year modernization strategy to transition legacy systems into cloud-native, API-first architectures.
Integrate Generative AI, Agentic AI, and intelligent automation into core business processes and workflows.
Establish architecture governance frameworks, standards, and decision records to improve organizational agility.
Develop reusable patterns and technology accelerators to improve engineering delivery speed and consistency.
Lead a high-performing team of enterprise architects while fostering communities of practice.
Manage the architectural roadmap for critical domains including claims processing, pricing, and pharmacy networks.
Ensure all AI-enabled solutions comply with security, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
What we're looking for
10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or large-scale transformation leadership.
Proven success developing and executing enterprise-scale modernization, platform, and data strategies.
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders across business and technology organizations.
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
Experience integrating security, compliance, risk management, and governance into technology platforms and engineering.
Exceptional communication, storytelling, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience operating in high-growth, transformation-focused, or highly regulated industries.
Experience within PBM, specialty pharmacy, healthcare technology, or related services (preferred); prior hands-on experience in software/data/platform engineering or cloud architecture (preferred); experience leveraging AI and automation to drive business outcomes (preferred).
