The Senior Data Center Support Services Technician serves as a technical liaison within the Data Center Environment team, maintaining operational run aspects for core infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, proactively monitoring customer environments via system error logs, and managing ticket queues to ensure service level agreements are met. Key responsibilities include performing advanced break/fix hardware maintenance, supporting network installations, and managing power capacity allocation for high and low density racks. The position requires expertise in Linux and Windows Servers, as well as networking protocols like DNS and TCP/IP. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree, an active TS/SCI security clearance, and DoD 8140 certifications. The work focuses on ensuring the reliability, resiliency, and availability of critical data center infrastructure and supporting large enterprise customers.
Perform advanced break/fix, hardware maintenance, and lifecycle support for servers and power distribution equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues while managing work within ticketing systems to meet SLAs.
Monitor system error logs and performance metrics to provide recommendations and take corrective actions.
Support network installations by validating cabling, device connectivity, and network builds.
Conduct audits and assessments of electrical, mechanical, cooling, and capacity requirements within data centers.
Perform Root Cause Analysis on recurring failures and develop appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting records for assigned environments.
Mentor less experienced technicians on hardware maintenance, network installation, and data center best practices.
What we're looking for
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
DoD 8140 Certification such as Security+ or higher.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
3-8 years of experience in Data Center infrastructure Operations support and server administration in a mid-sized environment.
Demonstrated expertise in at least two areas: Power Capacity allocation, Incident management, Systems administration (Linux/Windows), or Networking (DNS, TCP/IP).
Solid understanding of data center design, commissioning, and operations best practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience from a reputable Cloud provider or Tier 1 Data Center colocation provider (preferred).
