Lead Data Center Support Services Technician

What you'll do

• Manage the lifecycle of servers and components including diagnosis, replacement, and performance validation.
• Lead large-scale network builds and migrations while ensuring proper cabling and end-to-end connectivity.
• Serve as the highest operational escalation point for complex incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Oversee compliance with safety protocols, site rules, and documentation requirements for high-risk work.
• Develop and implement automated workflows and improved triage playbooks to increase response speed.
• Mentor junior technicians on technical skills, safety standards, and professional etiquette.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify architectural risks and improve system observability.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in data center operations (4 years for development preferred).
• Experience working in mission-critical environments and leading teams of at least 10 people.
• Proficiency in Linux/Windows systems administration, hardware repair, and networking fundamentals like DNS and TCP/IP.
• Expertise in data center design, including electrical/cooling plants, airflow management, and structured cabling for fiber and copper.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb a 9 ft. ladder, and stand for up to 12 hours.
• Ability to work independently, resolve complex issues, and communicate effectively with both technicians and management.
