Senior Customer Engineer, Majors is a quota-carrying role within the Go-to-Market organization where you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and primary architect for enterprise clients. You will guide customers through the entire lifecycle, from pre-sales technical validation and architectural design to onboarding and long-term expansion. Your daily work involves mapping complex infrastructure—including DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, Network Security, and Workers—to tailored solutions while managing proof of concepts and conducting quarterly business reviews. To succeed, you must possess expertise in internet fundamentals like BGP and TCP/UDP, security protocols such as WAF and SASE, and performance optimization. You will utilize AI-augmented workflows to automate routine tasks while leveraging skills in Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Go to build custom integrations and scripts within a cloud-native environment.
Lead technical discovery and map complex customer infrastructure to Cloudflare products like DNS, CDN, and Zero Trust.
Design and present tailored architectural diagrams and demonstrations to address specific performance, security, and reliability challenges.
Define and manage the scope, success criteria, and execution plans for Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and technical validations.
Create migration blueprints and provide step-by-step consulting for customer engineering teams during the onboarding process.
Manage a variable quota by identifying cross-sell opportunities and ensuring deep platform adoption across the customer lifecycle.
Conduct technical Quarterly Business Reviews to translate platform capabilities into measurable ROI for C-level executives.
Utilize AI agents and LLMs to automate routine tasks like RFP responses, documentation, and telemetry monitoring.
Develop and document internal and external technical resources, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
What we're looking for
Must have experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
Ability to design and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment with an understanding of SaaS metrics.
Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business outcomes for both engineers and C-level executives.
Must demonstrate depth in at least four areas: Internet fundamentals, Security, Performance, AI Proficiency, Coding/Scripting, or Developer Platform Fluency.
Experience creating and delivering technical enablement such as workshops, code samples, or documentation (preferred).
Experience with LLM orchestration, RAG architectures, and model-access controls (preferred).
Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
