Senior Customer Engineer, Majors, Raleigh, NC is a core driver of the technical go-to-market strategy within the GTM organization. Serving as a trusted advisor and primary architect, you will guide enterprise clients through the entire journey from pre-sales technical validation to onboarding, deployment architecture, and lifecycle expansion. You will design migration blueprints for DNS, Zero Trust, WAF tuning, and network security while managing technical hurdles and ensuring rapid time-to-value. The role requires expertise in internet fundamentals like BGP, TCP/UDP, and HTTP(S), as well as proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Bash, or Go to build custom integration scripts. You will leverage AI-augmented workflows and LLMs to automate routine tasks while solving complex performance and security challenges for large-scale infrastructure. This role bridges the gap between technical strategy and business outcomes for high-value enterprise clients.
Lead technical discovery and map complex customer infrastructure to Cloudflare products like DNS, CDN, and Zero Trust.
Design and deliver tailored architectural diagrams, demonstrations, and technical presentations to address specific client challenges.
Define and manage the scope, success criteria, and execution plans for Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
Create migration blueprints and provide expert guidance to customer engineering teams during the onboarding phase.
Manage a variable quota by identifying cross-sell opportunities and ensuring deep platform adoption across the customer lifecycle.
Conduct technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to translate platform capabilities into measurable ROI for C-level executives.
Automate routine tasks such as RFP responses and telemetry monitoring using AI agents and Large Language Models.
Develop and document internal and external technical resources, including Standard Operating Procedures and architectural best practices.
What we're looking for
Must have experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Account Management.
Ability to design and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment.
Ability to translate deeply technical concepts into business outcomes for both engineers and C-level executives.
Must demonstrate depth in at least four areas: Internet fundamentals, Security, Performance, AI Proficiency, Coding/Scripting, or Developer Platform Fluency.
Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM utilization, and workflow automation is required.
Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go, or similar languages for custom integration scripts and API connectors.
