Resident Solution Architect - Confluent
As a Resident Solution Architect - Confluent, you will join the Global Sales team to help customers leverage streaming architectures and applications to achieve their mission outcomes. You will consult directly with clients to provide software architecture, design, and operations expertise while building state-of-the-art streaming data infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities include developing modernization strategies through workshops, troubleshooting complex deployments, creating technical documentation, and testing new components. The role requires deep experience in Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, Kubernetes, and various NoSQL or relational databases. You will utilize tools such as Terraform for cloud automation, Ansible for on-premise deployments, and Java for development. To succeed, you must possess expertise in JVM tuning, Linux systems, and major cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure to solve complex data integration challenges.
Consult directly with customers to provide software architecture, design, and operations expertise using Apache Kafka and related technologies.
Guide customers in developing strategies to modernize data platforms and transition toward event-driven architectures through workshops and collaboration.
Lead the hands-on implementation of production-ready deployments from initial development through successful launch.
Optimize and debug existing customer deployments while building state-of-the-art streaming data infrastructure.
Provide technical feedback to Confluent Product and Engineering groups based on customer experiences and operational challenges.
Build internal tools to improve the company's ability to deliver high-quality results and push technical boundaries.
Test the performance and functionality of new components developed by the engineering team.
Create and edit documentation, reference architecture materials, and knowledge base articles for customers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree is required.
Experience designing, building, and operating in-production Big Data, stream processing, or enterprise data integration solutions using Apache Kafka.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple B2B infrastructure software development projects including customer satisfaction and feature adoption.
Experience configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting RedHat and Debian-based Linux distributions.
Experience running high-throughput systems on cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
Proficiency in Java and experience with JVM tuning and troubleshooting.
Experience with modern distributed data systems including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Snowflake, Databricks, and NoSQL technologies.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible for CI/CD automation.
