As a Production Technician on the Rocket Motor Systems team, you will support the solid rocket motor business line by building inert components, mixing and casting solid rocket propellants, and performing final motor assemblies. Your daily responsibilities include preparing cases for casting, assembling nozzles and igniters, collecting data, and maintaining tooling while collaborating with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes. You must be comfortable handling hazardous chemicals and possess strong mechanical aptitude when using hand-tools and industrial adhesives. The role requires proficiency with calipers, scales, gages, and computer applications within a regulated environment like AS9100 or ISO. This position addresses the technical challenge of producing high-quality, reliable solid rocket motors for defense applications. Candidates must be able to perform heavy duty assembly tasks while strictly adhering to safety protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Perform nozzle and igniter assembly operations on various motor types.
Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding process development and work instruction revisions.
Collect and enter production data into company systems.
Clean, maintain, and reset multiple types of manufacturing tooling.
Maintain a clean and organized working environment while handling hazardous chemicals.
What we're looking for
3+ years of experience building solid rocket motors or manufacturing industry experience; a mechanical degree or certification also contributes toward this requirement.
Experience working in regulated environments such as AS9100 or ISO.
Proficiency reading and using equipment including calipers, scales, and gages.
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and standard industrial adhesives.
Proficiency with computer applications.
Ability to perform medium to heavy duty assembly and lift at least 40 pounds in a fast-paced environment.
Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information or facilities.
Experience in hazardous environments, chemistry, manufacturing, aerospace/defense industries, or eligibility for a Secret clearance (preferred).
