Lead Production Technician
The Lead Production Technician joins the production team to support the Fury program at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role involves leading technician staff through factory acceptance while performing hands-on assembly of complex systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. The individual will manage daily operations by prioritizing tasks for operators, ensuring safety compliance, and participating in 5S and continuous improvement activities. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, interpreting technical documentation like electrical schematics and building plans, and maintaining detailed records within production systems including NetSuite, JIRA, SQL, and Tableau. The role requires expertise in electro-mechanical assembly, LEAN manufacturing principles, and change management. This position addresses the challenge of building advanced autonomous systems by ensuring high-quality construction and rigorous testing to meet strict performance standards for defense technology products.
Lead a team of technicians in the production and delivery of complex systems through factory acceptance.
Perform hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware components including mechanical, electrical, and software elements.
Manage daily operations by prioritizing tasks for operators to ensure on-time delivery goals are met.
Ensure all staff follow safety procedures and standard work tasks while auditing the work area for efficiency.
Execute data entry and reporting in production systems such as MES, NetSuite, JIRA, SQL, and Tableau.
Participate in 5S activities and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.
Provide training and support to new operators to build team skills and product knowledge.
Maintain detailed daily records of production progress, blockers, risks, and requirements.
What we're looking for
3+ years experience in production-oriented manufacturing or electro-mechanical technician fields.
Prior experience leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience working with ERP and MES systems including NetSuite, JIRA, SQL, and Tableau.
Understanding of product life cycle (NPI to scaled production), LEAN principles, and change management.
Ability to interpret technical documentation such as mechanical drawings, work instructions, and electrical schematics.
U.S. Person status is required for access to export controlled data.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (preferred); 2+ years in lead/operations; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; AS9100/OSHA knowledge; A&P certification (all preferred).
