The Principal Technical Services Project Management role sits within the Propulsion Systems Division Manufacturing organization, specifically supporting the new Operation Program Management department in the Space Systems Division. This individual serves as the primary interface between the Business Division and Manufacturing to manage schedule, cost accountability, and resource allocation for manufacturing activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing engineering processes, troubleshooting production lines, identifying root causes for manufacturing issues, and managing communications across departments like Test, Supply Chain, and Engineering. The role requires expertise in mechanical manufacturing processes, yield management, and work cell enhancements to ensure products meet technical specifications. Required skills and tools include a STEM degree, experience with SAP or other ERP systems, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Earned Value Management, Windchill, TipQA, Cognos, and MS Office applications like Excel and Project.
Manage schedule management and cost accountability for manufacturing activities to ensure efficient program execution.
Develop manufacturing engineering processes that meet technical specifications, quality standards, and agency compliance requirements.
Troubleshoot production lines and perform root cause analysis to resolve manufacturing issues.
Define and monitor process metrics associated with manufacturing work cell functionality.
Identify and lead manufacturing improvement projects regarding yield management, production rates, and work cell enhancements.
Manage daily communications between Program Management, Manufacturing, Test, Supply Chain, and Engineering departments.
Ensure manufacturing teams have the necessary resources and personnel to execute programs successfully.
Facilitate internal meetings to support design, production, and technical problem resolutions.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM area and 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience.
Experience in leadership and project management.
Experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Test, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) and SAP or other ERP systems.
Working knowledge of Cost Point and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-organizational teams and customers.
Degrees in Business Management, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering; active clearance; and expertise in Windchill, TipQA, Cognos, EVM, or Lean Manufacturing (preferred).
