The Principal Project Management/ Sr. Principal Project Management role within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems involves directing all phases of programs from inception through completion. The individual in this position manages cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to ensure projects meet cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives while serving as the primary customer contact for program activities. Key responsibilities include negotiating contracts and changes, preparing proposals and business plans, managing operating budgets, and performing risk and opportunity management. The role requires expertise in workforce planning, statement of work finalization, and adherence to internal policies and industry standards. Essential skills include experience with government contracts, compliance documents, information assurance regulations, and continuous process improvement. This position addresses the complexities of managing large-scale programs for U.S. Government customers, ensuring all requirements are met through rigorous project management and strategic planning.
Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
Negotiate contracts, contract changes, operating budgets, and financial terms.
Act as the primary customer contact for program activities and performance reviews.
Lead cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
Develop new business opportunities through strategic planning and proposal development.
Manage program resources including workforce planning and risk mitigation strategies.
Create and finalize program Statements of Work and manage requirements tracking.
Deliver performance presentations to customers, executive management, and other stakeholders.

U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
A Bachelor's degree and 5 years, or a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or project management.
A Bachelor's degree and 8 years, or a Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience for the Senior Principal level.
Experience leading tasks on schedule, at cost, and meeting all requirements as a project lead, integrated program team member, or cost account manager.
Demonstrated success leading teams or organizations to achieve common goals.
Preferred experience with government contracts, compliance documents, and information assurance regulations.
Preferred experience in proposal management and continuous process improvement.
