Principal SOC Architect, AI Accelerators joins the ASICS Engineering group to develop next-generation AI products for the datacenter. This role involves defining architecture and driving requirements from the card and server level up to a full rack. The architect will perform reliability analysis, design for easy serviceability, and implement hardware and software techniques to improve availability. Key responsibilities include supporting multiple clients using virtual machines on shared hardware platforms and designing for confidential compute. The position requires expertise in security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, and lifecycle deployments. Candidates must possess knowledge of scale-up and scale-out architectures, PCIe protocols including SRIOV, SIOV, IDE, and TDISP, and Ethernet protocols with an emphasis on error recovery and virtualization.
Define hardware and software requirements by engaging with customers and ODMs.
Analyze current AI server deployments across various datacenters to identify needs.
Architect SoC enhancements for next-generation AI products from card to rack levels.
Perform reliability analysis for card, server, and rack-level systems.
Design architectures that ensure easy serviceability and high availability.
Implement hardware and software techniques to mitigate system failures.
Architect security features including confidential compute and client isolation.
Support multi-client virtualization on shared hardware platforms using industry best practices.
What we're looking for
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
10+ years of hardware design, testing, and commercialization experience.
3+ years of experience working in datacenter-related products such as servers or accelerators.
In-depth knowledge of datacenter security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, lifecycle, and deployments.
Good knowledge of scale-up and scale-out architectures.
Experience and knowledge of PCIe protocol spanning SRIOV, SIOV, IDE, and TDISP (preferred).
