The Server SoC System Architect joins the CPU Engineering group to design next-generation datacenter system and hardware infrastructure. This role focuses on architecting complex System on Chips at advanced process nodes to ensure reliability, availability, and serviceability. The architect will define SoC and system-level architectures for debug, telemetry, RAS, and server management capabilities, including run control, trace, crash dumping, and error injection. Key responsibilities include driving cross-functional alignment across hardware, firmware, and software teams while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position requires expertise in MIPI STP and DMTF PLDM protocols, boot, reset, recovery, and confidential computing concepts. The work addresses the technical challenge of providing secure RAS and telemetry solutions to improve datacenter uptime and reduce issue resolution time in production environments.
Define and develop SoC and system-level architecture for datacenter products focusing on debug, telemetry, RAS, and server management.
Design hardware infrastructure for reliability, availability, serviceability, and secure telemetry solutions.
Drive cross-functional alignment across hardware, firmware, software, validation, and product teams.
Prepare and present comprehensive technical documentation and reports for engineering teams, senior management, and customers.
Participate in industry standards organizations to monitor and develop specifications for debug and RAS technologies.
Ensure SoC infrastructure complies with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Architect secure debug, attestation, and access control primitives for datacenter products.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
Over 5 years of experience in designing hardware for datacenter environments (preferred).
At least 2 years of experience in architecting and developing technologies for datacenter products with a proven track record in hyperscale datacenter solutions (preferred).
Proficiency in boot, reset, recovery, debug, RAS, telemetry, server manageability, and confidential computing concepts (preferred).
Direct architecture/design experience with debug, telemetry, and RAS protocols such as MIPI STP or DMTF PLDM (preferred).
Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in an ambiguous environment (preferred).
