The Principal Project Management/ Sr. Principal Project Management role within the Mission Systems team involves directing all phases of programs from inception through completion. The individual will manage program requirements, coordinate proposal preparations, negotiate contract changes, and oversee operating budgets and financial terms. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives while serving as the primary customer contact for review sessions. Key tasks involve risk and opportunity management, workforce planning, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and industry standards. The role requires expertise in government contracts, compliance documents, information assurance regulations, and continuous process improvement. This position addresses the complexities of managing large-scale programs for U.S. Government customers, requiring skills in strategic planning, contract negotiation, and technical performance tracking within a highly regulated defense and mission systems environment.
Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
Negotiate contracts, contract changes, operating budgets, and technical specifications.
Act as the primary customer contact for program reviews regarding cost, schedule, and performance.
Lead cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to meet specific project objectives.
Develop new business opportunities through strategic planning and proposal development.
Manage program resources including workforce planning and risk mitigation strategies.
Create and finalize program Statements of Work and track all requirements.
Measure and report program performance to executive management and stakeholders.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
For Principal level: Bachelor's degree and 5 years, or master’s and 3 years of relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or project management.
For Sr. Principal level: Bachelor's degree and 8 years, or master’s and 6 years of relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts or project management.
Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost, and achieving all requirements as a project lead, integrated program team member, or cost account manager.
Demonstrated success leading teams or organizations to achieve a common goal.
Experience with compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards (preferred).
Experience with Government Contracts and related documents (preferred).
