As a Principal Platform Software Engineer, you will join the team building Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s state-of-the-art observability platform to provide visibility and operational intelligence for internal cloud services and customer workloads. What you'll do

Design and operate cloud-scale observability platforms for metrics, logs, and traces.
Architect scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient systems for telemetry collection, ingestion, and storage.
Develop distributed systems capable of processing massive volumes of data with low latency.
Build scalable indexing solutions specifically designed for high-cardinality metrics.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the entire observability stack.
Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions for hyperscale cloud environments.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex distributed systems in production.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to foster engineering best practices.

What we're looking for

Must possess a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
Requires 6+ years of experience in the industry.
Proficiency in programming languages including Java, Go, C, C++, and Python is required.
Experience with cloud-scale products, multi-tenant services, and concurrent programming is required.
Must have experience with open source technologies, cloud technologies, and full product lifecycle development.
Strong communication and analytical skills are required to adapt to fast-changing requirements.
Preferred experience includes designing observability solutions for metrics, logs, and traces.
Experience with Terraform and managing large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
