As a Principal Platform Software Engineer on the OCI Developer Platform team, you will define the technical direction and architecture for a new application deployment system. You will build resilient, scalable deployment workflows and platform primitives to help developers safely release and operate services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Your daily work involves designing APIs, data models, and service architectures while establishing safety and reliability as platform defaults. What you'll do

Define the architecture and technical strategy for core services and APIs powering the OCI application deployment platform.
Deliver resilient, scalable deployment workflows and platform primitives for safe code delivery across diverse environments.
Translate complex, multi-organization requirements into clear technical strategies, design principles, and execution plans.
Establish safety and reliability as platform defaults through isolation, policy enforcement, observability, and failure handling.
Build the technical foundations for AI-assisted engineering workflows including governance and security controls.
Identify high-leverage investments to improve developer experience, performance, and deployment success rates based on operational data.
Raise engineering standards through architecture reviews, technical mentorship, and leadership on complex cross-team initiatives.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of professional software development experience.
Proven track record of leading the design and delivery of production-quality distributed systems, platform services, or developer tools.
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, or Python.
Experience designing scalable APIs, data models, and service architectures with a focus on security and operability.
Solid understanding of cloud-native systems including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
Demonstrated technical leadership to define strategy, align stakeholders, and drive execution across teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence technical decisions and build organizational alignment.
