The Principal Network Developer joins the Network Products Engineering organization to design and deliver advanced networking products for scalable data center and cloud environments. As an individual contributor, you will independently own complex technical workstreams across the product lifecycle, translating customer and operational requirements into implementable designs, validation plans, and deployment strategies. You will build reusable automation, tooling, dashboards, and telemetry to improve engineering efficiency and operational visibility. Key technical requirements include expertise in Clos fabrics, Ethernet switching, IP routing, BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS, Segment Routing, and traffic engineering. You will also work with merchant silicon, network ASIC concepts, and optical networking. This role solves the challenge of providing reliable, high-performance networking foundations for demanding workloads within a global cloud footprint.
Design and develop advanced networking products and systems for scalable data center and cloud environments.
Translate customer and operational requirements into clear product requirements, designs, and implementation approaches.
Own complex workstreams across the product lifecycle from concept development to deployment readiness.
Validate network products and production environments while developing scaling strategies for technical risks.
Build reusable automation, tooling, dashboards, and telemetry to improve test coverage and operational visibility.
Develop advanced test strategies and reusable test cases based on incidents and lessons learned.
Analyze network workflows and performance data to identify inefficiencies and propose scalable improvements.
Create operational playbooks and technical documentation to enable consistent resolution of complex network issues.
What we're looking for
Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English.
6 to 10+ years of experience is required.
Required skills include Data Center or Network Site Design, Network Architecture, Network Automation, Network Engineering, and Network Hardware.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
8+ years of experience designing, developing, validating, automating, or deploying large-scale networking infrastructure (preferred).
Strong understanding of modern data center networking, including Clos fabrics, Ethernet switching, IP routing, BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS, Segment Routing, and traffic engineering (preferred).
Experience with network product development, hardware validation, interoperability testing, and lifecycle management (preferred).
Experience with network automation, scripting, configuration management, telemetry, observability, and operational tooling (preferred).
